Tim Richmond was a NASCAR classic. Bursting onto the NASCAR scene in the early 1980's, Richmond made lots of noise from the get-go with his wide open style and rock-n-roll personality. In his seven year career at the NASCAR Winston Cup Series level, Tim Richmond won 13 races, notched 78 top-10 finishes and started from the pole 14 times. This #2 J.D. Stacy Buick is the car that gave Richmond his first top-5 finish on April 4, 1982. The race was the CRC Chemicals Rebel 500 at Darlington Speedway, and the result proved Richmond had what it took to hang with the big boys of NASCAR. Richmond drove to his first NASCAR Winston Cup Series win on the road course at Riverside. This diecast car has never been made and is the newest release in the NASCAR Classics line.
Action Gold Series cars feature diecast bodies with plastic chassis. The hoods open HO, but the trunk does not. This car is packaged the same as the Platinum Series and includes a silver sticker with "1 of XXXX" indicating production run and DIN (Diecast Identification Number) for registration.
