Jason Leffler debuted the FedEx sponsorship for Joe Gibbs Racing in 2005 and Hamlin, who later replaced Leffler in the #11 car, wanted to honor Leffler's life at the track. The car was rewrapped late Saturday night and ready for Sunday's Quicken Loans 400.
"He was the reason FedEx came into the sport and it just made sense," Hamlin said.
Lionel Racing in partnership with Joe Gibbs Racing and NASCAR will donate 100% of the profit from the purchase of each diecast car to the Charlie Dean Trust Fund to benefit Jason Leffler's son Charlie.
