With seven victories in seven final round appearances and 10 #1 qualifying starts, Force and the Castrol GTX Oldsmobile Funny Car seemed unstoppable. Ultimately, Force would end his storybook season by hoisting the NHRA Funny Car Championship trophy in the winner's circle for the first time in his career.
