Before Bud Moore became a successful car owner, he was a decorated World War II infantryman. Moore started his career as an owner in 1961 and won back to back championships in 1962-63. Moore also won a championship as a crew chief in 1957 for Buck Baker. As a car owner Moore totaled 63 wins which included the DAYTONA 500 and the Southern 500.
