Known as the Silver Fox, Pearson was a dominant force when he strapped into a race car. Pearson amassed 105 wins in only 574 career starts and he ranks second all time for victories. Pearson won three series championships in 1966, ’68 and ’69 and did so without running all of the events in either season. Pearson won the 1976 DAYTONA 500 in dramatic fashion as he was the first to cross the finish line after a crash with Richard Petty on the front stretch during the final lap.
